Hi, my name is Alex Muhich. I’ve been playing card games since 2006 and have been a tournament official for a few games since 2011. I had heard of The Spoils from Dragon Shield sleeve boxes and more recently from the event held at the ARG Championships in Florida, but didn’t know anything about it. I had been given a brief description of what it’s like, but had never sat down and played until I had some free time between rounds at Force of Will AGP Dallas 2016.
As many of you know, the inaugural Victors Circuit happened in Orlando, Florida at the beginning of this month. In partnership with Alter Reality Games, the Victors Circuit is a regional-style event where you play for an invitation to the North American Spoils Championship at Gen Con 2016, as well as numerous other prizes such as a unique Top 8 Playmat, Top 8 Resources and Dice, and the Alternate Art “Gideon, the Ultimate Warrior”. While this Circuit is a high-level tournament, it’s also very friendly to newer players due to it being a sealed format. I
I am back with the second part about my experience at Gencon. This part will cover the limited tournaments.
Gencon featured two big limited events. The first event of Gencon was the Sealed Championships featuring the new set, Seed Saga. This let us play with the set for the first time ever and we could obtain the card before release.
The Spring Championship Tournament
Ok, before I cover my games, let me tell you that our Spring Championships was a bit rushed compared to the tournaments we usually host.
